Who runs it
The United States road test is administered by the state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Book your test through your official state Department of Motor Vehicles.
What the examiner is assessing
Wherever you test, examiners are watching the same fundamentals: all-round observation (especially at junctions), correct mirror use before any change of speed or direction, smooth steering and control, safe positioning and lane discipline, and appropriate speed for the conditions.
