Drive Games: UK driving test games

Two free browser games that drill the rules examiners actually mark: a roundabout practice game with animated lane choice and signalling, and a who-goes-first quiz on junction priority and the hierarchy of road users. No sign-up; progress saves on your device.

Why practise with driving test games?

Roundabout lane choice and junction priority are among the most common reasons UK learners pick up faults: hesitating at a give-way line, approaching in the wrong lane, or missing a pedestrian waiting to cross the road you are turning into. These games isolate that decision and let you repeat it until it is automatic. Each answer is explained with the Highway Code rule it rests on — rules 184–190 for roundabouts, 170–183 for junctions, 191–199 for crossings and the H1–H3 hierarchy of road users — so you learn the reason as well as the answer.

How the games are organised

Both games are split into levels and short sets of about ten questions. You answer once per question, see the explanation straight away, and can use “Try again” to practise without affecting your set score. At the end of a set you get your score, your best streak and the rule families you missed, with a one-tap “retry the ones you missed”. Your progress is saved in your browser so you can pick up where you left off.

Drive Games FAQ

Are the Drive Games free?

Yes — both web games are free to play in any modern browser, with no download or sign-up. Progress is stored on your device.

Do I need the SteerClear app to play?

No. The games run on this website. The app is for practising the roads around your test centre with live scoring; the games are a quick way to drill the rules between drives.

Which countries do the games apply to?

The rules follow the UK Highway Code (drive on the left, roundabouts clockwise). SteerClear itself supports learner drivers in 31 countries, but these two games are UK-specific.

Can I share a question with a friend or instructor?

Yes. Every question has Share, Save image and Copy link buttons; the link opens that exact scenario.

Will the games work with a keyboard or screen reader?

Yes. Every exit and road user is a focusable button with a label, results are announced, and if you have reduced motion enabled the animation is replaced by the drawn path and a step list.

Ready for the test itself? SteerClear guides you around test-centre routes near your test centre with live scoring and readiness feedback.
